The result, in many cases, is a stunningly awful Harbor Tour.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Want a much better solution? A menu presents a high-level listing of the range of offerings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In our restaurant scenario, the waiter says, \u201cHere, let me get you a menu\u2026\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The menu provides a rapid way for the diner to assess what is possible, what sounds good, and what items to consider.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In demos, we can apply the same principle! Simple, elegant, and highly effective.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>The Menu Approach \u2013 An Example!<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Back to situation \u201c1\u201d above\u2026\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019ve been asked to present a demo to a prospect team of a dozen people, about which you know very little. Their starting point is to create an \u201cuber menu\u201d that includes a fairly long list of topics spanning the full set of expected audience member job titles, markets, verticals, and applications.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next, they generate subset menus that are aligned with specific verticals and likely prospect interests. These get tuned over time to improve, add, or remove the menu items. Use The Menu Approach! You can have your list of topics available on your demo laptop, computer, or tablet, or consider having a list produced as a poster and attached to the wall of your demo station. Oh, that\u2019s right! Mandu? Wow, that\u2019s new to me \u2013 and they look interesting!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can apply the same idea to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">su<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> menus by adding a small image of the main deliverable for each menu item: An Illustration, in Great Demo! terminology. Some folks even generate links from the small image to a full-sized version of the screen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Great Demo!
